The Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Surgery is a very invasive procedure. If you are lucky enough to survive it, all the wires and tubes that are keeping you alive appear to be making you into a Cyborg. This was a very emotional time for me as mother is my everything. She actually flatlined on me and my sister-in-law after her surgery. She came back but it added a few more wires and tubes to intensify the non human feel. I started to see the faces in all the mess of wires and tubes and how a symmetry image would amplify the expression. I wanted the image to be raw and gritty as it is how I was feeling at the moment. The center light was use to show there was a human being in the middle of all the chaos. The large mechanical face in the center is a reflection of me looking at the situation.
